Undergraduate Students
The School of Education provides an opportunity for undergraduate students to become certified teachers in both private and public schools. We prepare today’s teachers to educate today’s diverse students for leadership in the future of education. We believe that students from varying backgrounds, learning styles, languages, culture and faith communities enhance learning and facilitate quality teacher education.

Graduate Students
Graduate students are given the opportunity to earn a MEd while working on initial teaching certification, or to work on professional certificates in areas where a master’s degree is necessary including, but not limited to, professional school counseling, educational diagnostician, principalship, and reading specialist. Our programs prepare students to successfully pass the TExES in all certification areas, and students in the counseling program are prepared to meet the needs of the Texas State Board of Examiners of Licensed Professional Counselors to become professional, agency counselors.
The SOE values diversity in the educator preparation program, and prepares future teachers to work with all students. Finally, the School of Education houses the Center for Dual Language Education including, but not limited to, history, current theory, research, innovative teaching, and other areas of dual language education
