The Department of Economics, Finance & Decision Information Sciences provides a major in Finance and selected courses in Economics and Decision Sciences. It also offers minors in Economics and in Finance.

The Finance major provides an education designed to prepare graduates for success in business and in managing their personal investments. Whether students plan to lead an investment group managing complex portfolios for a business, or follow a career path involving capital budgeting, cash management, or risk management decisions, the major in Finance will provide the necessary analytical background for their careers. This curriculum also prepares students for postgraduate study in the field of business and law. The Finance major provides a solid body of theoretical and practical knowledge of domestic and international finance in the areas of corporate finance, risk management, investments, portfolio management, financial markets, and financial institutions.

In addition, the Department offers a minor in Economics. This program is designed to provide students exposure to the content of the field both as a social science, which examines issues regarding how society allocates its resources and international relations among economies and includes a strong ethical component. It also provides introduction to concepts central to business and governmental decision-making.
