Every year, the UST Alumni Association Board of Directors seeks nominations for the Rev. Vincent J. Guinan CSB Alumni of the Year award.  This year, we are asking for your help in identifying an alumnus who embodies the UST mission.

The Rev. Vincent J. Guinan CSB Alumni of the Year Award, presented annually to a UST alumnus or alumna during Commencement, recognizes outstanding contributions to the University of St. Thomas and society through professional and personal excellence and outstanding community involvement. 

Former Winners

Former award winners include Teana Sechelski ’52, V. Gregory Hartford ’68 and Cheri York Hartford ’69, Most Reverend James A. Tamayo, D.D. ’71, ’75, Barbara Hurwitz ’88 and Larry Payne ’72.

Nomination Process

If you know of an alumnus or an alumna who exemplifies this definition, please download the nomination form, and submit their name for nomination. Please enclose any additional supporting information, such as the nominee’s resume, published articles, statements from other alumni and any information you feel is pertinent. You are welcome to nominate more than one person.

Nomination forms will be collected by the Office of Alumni Relations. In March, the Alumni Association Board of Directors will review all nominations and select an award recipient to be announced during UST Commencement ceremonies in May.

If your nominee is chosen as a finalist, you may be contacted to gather additional information for the Alumni Association Board of Directors to make an informed decision.

This is your opportunity to recognize fellow alumni who have made a contribution to UST and our community. Please return nomination forms and background materials by March 6, 2008.
